The fragrance of Hinoki/Kagawa is entirely different from typical hinoki essential oils or waters—it’s complex and deeply profound. It carries notes of amber (ryuzenkou), moss, and agarwood (jinkou), making it truly unique, with a scent that anyone will instantly recognize. The refreshing woody notes of hinoki, reminiscent of the familiar experience of forest bathing, are intricately blended with special elements hidden in the roots, such as amber, moss, and agarwood, resulting in a fragrance that also evokes an ethereal quality. Amber, moss, and agarwood are key ingredients used in high-end perfumes, and they are what make the hinoki / kagawa fragrance so exceptional. These elements are clearly present in the sleep scent water as well, while in the sleep scent oil, the components are even more concentrated, creating a luxurious and refined fragrance that is truly one-of-a-kind.

The roots are nutured through the 4 seasons, nourished by sunlight, rain, wind, and other earth's natural energy. The roots enriched with these energies are then chipped and carefully extracted by hand using steam distillation. The essence richly infused with nature obtained through this delicate process is then bottled and allowed for time to mature. hinoki / kagawa collaborates with Kyushu University and Kagawa Prefecture to study the effects of locally sourced Hinoki (Japanese cypress).
It has been scientifically proven that “α-Pinene,” a component found in Hinoki’s aroma, promotes relaxation, relieves fatigue, and improves sleep quality.
